Single Dad Project

The year that followed my divorce was the most difficult of my life.

Overwhelmed by panic, despair and confusion, the hardest thing for me was the possibility of it having a corrosive effect on my children.

However, through acceptance, forgiveness and love my ex and I found a way to celebrate our time together and truly become friends.

Although involved in my children’s lives, I am not the main carer.

This project aims to celebrate the men who are.

My intention is to stage an exhibition and ultimately produce a book.

Every participant will get a print and will, I hope, enjoy the process of being photographed.

My approach is very low-key.  Just using available light, a film camera and a tripod.

If you’re a single dad and interested in being photographed, please get in touch.

I’ve been contacted by Martin Bryant (Barry, S Wales) who brought your Exhibition ideas and the charity “Dads House” to my attention.

I’m a single dad with two sons aged 15 & 13 years. If you are looking for
fathers in this area for your project, then we would be more than happy to
    become involved.

    Kind Regards.

I am a widowed stepdad, now the primary carer for my 11 year old stepdaughter. We would be interested in possibly taking part in this project.

  6. Hi Harry,

I’m a single dad with two young boys (8 & 5). My wife died in December 2012. I’m involved with the widowers’ forum along with Ben, Rees, Kevin etc. I’d love to be involved in your project. I live in the Midlands so fairly easy/central to get to.

Look forward to hearing from you

Beautiful plan, beautiful pics, looking forward to seeing the collection in full. My brother is a single Dad doing an amazing job, he and my (simply gorgeous) nephew have just had their pics taken and I can’t wait to see the results.
